I'm next on the Prefontaine Shorts World Blog Tour today! Yay!
I was really exited to be invited by Jill of That Moxie Girl to have me try out her first pdf pattern. I had seen some shorts around the web and instantly loved the cute 70's style of these running shorts.

The pattern is very simple and easy to sew.  It requires very little fabric. So I splurged and got some silk, lucky me it was 3 for 1 that day at my local fabric store. What is better than some soft, light weight silk shorts on a hot summer day?

The style calls for contrasting bias around the edge, but I opted for a tone on tone kind of feel. I had seen a few different pairs on Pinterest I loved and just knew I would follow that trend with my little shorts. It makes them sophisticated, don't you find?

The fabric was really fine, so I double them with some yellow silk. I LOVE, love, luv that detail on the side of the leg. It adds to the style and comfort. The Pdf pattern also come with front & back pocket, but I decided to leave them out.

I made my shorts a little big, you should definitely follow the measurements with all pdf patterns- I am slowly learning. I also need to stop worrying about making or buying things to small for my kids, it's a bad habit. I still love the baggy look and with summer coming to end real soon, these will be perfect for next summer too!

And well I loved these so much I decided to make myself a pair! This is the second thing I sew up in the past couple of weeks for myself in the last 10 years! I am on a roll.
Hear this, Jill will be launching an adult version of her Prefontaine Shorts real soon- how cool is that? So keep on the look out. I kinda wish I had waited now.
I used a pair of running shorts I own and copied the pattern, then I replicated the overlapping side detail and voila! They fit a little snug on me, I might have to start running!!!

Don't laugh- this is me with a tan!!! I wish I had Miss E's complexion. Even the kids make fun of me!

Don't forget to buy your copy over at the Made with Moxie Shop.
We love them, I bet you'll love them too! I actually started to make Mister M some swimming trunks with the same pattern, but didn't get to finish them. So I'll be back with those, soon!

Ros from Sew Delicious is also showing off her shorts today, so be sure to check them out.

And you must check out what everyone else has been sewing, there are so many cute style being worn by some really cute kids. And you'll be able to see that the shorts can be made in all kinds of awesome fabrics and styles. And you might like to know they are available in size 18 months to 8 years.
