Nice to Meet You: ANDREA LAUREN

I wrote a post on Babyccino this week about a really cute brand called Sweet Kiddo and I got this nice comment from Andrea saying how nice it was to see her prints on such cute stuff. WHAT? These prints are available for purchase? I can make my own fox sweatshirt. I can hang some adorable swans on Miss E's wall?  I couldn't believe my eyes.

Andrea Lauren is a super talented illustrator and pattern maker. You have got to go and check out her Spoonflower shop as well has her print shop. Print Making + Pattern Design at it's best. I am so pleased to have discovered her wonderful world.
Don't you find it hard to find prints you like? I really need to spend more time on SpoonFlower, but I think I found a treasure box here. The best thing is that I can choose what fabric you want the prints to go onto. Just in time for KCW- kids clothing week...

Speaking of which, have you passed by the KCW blog this week? I am their guest of honour! You might recognize a pattern in todays Inspiration post.

Alright, I am off to shop and read up on Andrea Lauren's blog and check out her portfolio

MishMash Friday... Getting KCW ready!

It's been a bit of a crazy week and I'm so happy it's Friday! Last weekend I had the privilege of testing Elegance & Elephants new pattern "the bubble pocket shorts", I made Miss E a pair of the sailor version and it really is adorable. I should have better photos next week- but just in case you wanted to be one of the first to get the pattern, it's now available for purchase.

And this weekend is going to be just as crazy. It's my mom birthday and we are going to Platsburg for the day (Hello Target shopping!) and the other reason is because...
... I'll be preparing for KCW- you know that crazy week of sewing I do every season for my kids. I am particularly excited this year because of all the great connections and wonderful friends I've made in the sewing community since the last edition. I feel like I won't be alone this time around and well surrounded. Also have you seen the new KCW website- wow!
I knew KCW was around the corner, so I did some online fabric shopping- my first experience and I'm sooo happy. I got some Nani Iro fabric from Miss Matatabi and I'm so excited to get sewing. Check out this lovely etsy shop- it's filled withsome beautiful fabric I tell you.
Now, I bought my Nani Iro fabric in part because of all the wonderful inspiration I got from the Japanese Sewing Book Series over at you & mie. I figured it was about time I used my Japanese Books...
And Sanae is always such a great source of inspiration wether on her bog or Pinterest -check both out!!! I'm not sure who has more Japanese books for kids- one thing for sure is that she uses them for sewing, whereas I just look at the pretty pictures. Shame on me!!! Not this time...
I also got the Bubble Dress Pattern by Straight Grain. I am so excited to make this dress, I've admired and pinned it a gazillion times. I know Miss E will be a doll in it- as cute as An's daughter? I'm not sure, but pretty close!
I also got a few Figgy's Patterns - remember the E-Fab Sewing Pattern Sale? I got those there and I can't wait for their next sale coming up at the end of the summer, just in time for Fall!!! So, I'll be making the kids some of these Banyan pants. Maybe a tee or two too and other patterns too...
And finally I just recently discovered Lou Bee Clothing patterns through Max California's blog and look how cute that Tank dress/ tunic is! I will be adding that pattern to my list of things to do... Check out the blog for some great inspiration...

Well, there shall be lots of sewing going on next week and if you need some inspiration check out my Kiddo... Sew Cute Pinterest Board or any other board actually. I'll be Instagramming along the way as well as Facebooking and Flickring. So hopefully you are following it all already!

Let me know if you are sewing along and where I can see your creations, I'd love to be one of your cheerleaders!!!

Wishing you all an AWESOME weekend!
