What I learnt from Mie? When Ines from La Folie came to me and asked if we could do a surprise video with a few people sharing what they had learnt from Mie, I thought YES right away. I then soon realized we would have a short film on our hands- If you don't know Mie, she is the blogger and sewing master of all things behind Sewing Like Mad, she is always helping and answering questions, offering tips on Instagram, Facebook and her blog. She is so generous with her knowledge, I just knew we would have testimonials that could be 10 minutes long each. So we asked everyone to keep their video clips to 10 seconds... man I had a hard time following that rule.

Mie what you have taught me goes way beyond the realms of sewing. I love that when I have any doubts, you are always right there to guide me. I might have studied fashion design and a little bit of sewing, but that was over 10 years ago and well my mommy brain fails me sometimes. I also know I can always count on you to tell me the "right" way of doing things. You definitely push me to sew and blog better, when we first starting being friendly you once made a comment about my pressing- at that time I didn't think any of my readers really cared. Now I know at least you care and I make a great efforts to put my best work ( most of the time) forward. You make me want to match all my stripes and plaid and so I pay even more attention to these little details, because I know I am not the only one paying attention anymore- you and everyone you've educated is too! You made colour blocking just a thing and not a trend- thank goodness! And now that I am sewing for myself again, I feel like I don't know anything and you are right there holding my hand. Also, making me spending way to much money on cool patterns and amazing fabric ( oh and muslin fabric too of course!) with your recommendations and well with you showcasing them as well! You are such an inspiration. I could also talk about all that you've taugh me and brought to my attention with pattern making. I get so nervous when you sew one of my patterns, at least that makes me be more diligient and pay closer attention to the details and making sure I put the best patterns I possibly can out there. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oh but you have taught me so much more- you have taught me that having a best friend online is totally possible. You have taught me to trust in myself and my gut and not care too much about what everyone thinks. I am not sure I would still be blogging if it weren't for you! Your love for what you do and how you do it, is contagious and ever so inspiring. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here and for just being you. Love you!

And have a look at what everyone else has to say, clearly I am not the only one who thinks you are a genius or star!
