I managed to sew just in the nick of time for this month's Project Sew It. I might have gone the easy route and made myself a simple tee-shirt, however it's been on my list of things to sew for the longest time. Best part is that I love it and I have another one that just needs hemming! Yes, I am an all or nothing kind of girl, there is just no stopping me now... let's hope!
I made this bell sleeve tee with some fabric I've had in my stash for 2years now. It's amazing, it has such a nice feel and is so soft... good thing I have some more! The tee is from my favourite Japanese pattern book called Simple Chic. It isn't always that I want to sew pretty much every item in a book and this time it's the case. I am sure you will be seeing many more from this book. You can see the yellow top I made from it here if you like. And since I made this from one of my Japanese sewing books, this counts as my #sewjapan with Mie contribution. I hope you are sewing along with us too! You can read more about it here.
I love everything about this top and have absolutely no complaints except that I might need to sew many many more. I love the flare and a-line cut, you see none of my muffin tops and the I will be honest I was a little, no scratch that, VERY worried about the bell sleeves, but they turned just bell enough!
Keep sharing the wonderful creations you made this month on Facebook and on IG with #projectsewit and next month I'll be sharing some of my favourites from January. Happy Sewing!
I am taking a film class and our challenge this week was to shoot a mini movie in slow motion of ourselves "taking a moment". I thought I would capture myself taking a moment to make myself pretty for this post and to highlight the top I made myself which is a pretty big deal and a rare moment I took to make myself something for a change.
I am seriously excited to get started on next month's project!
