Nice to meet you: OLILO

Oh me, oh my! I am so pleased to have discovered the world of Olilo. These beautifully handcrafted baby shoes are seriously too much to handle. They have just the right amount of a handmade feeling mixed with contempory styling- now that's not easy to do!

The detailing is adorable- from the pompoms, to the laces and the colorful eyelet. The quilting and handsewn elements are just too sweet. I especially love the use of color and the perfect matching of patterns.

Olilo also has a cute selection of stuffed animals- there are a variety of animals to choose from, all beautifully embroidered.
Ummm... I think it's time I had a 3rd kid!

I Heart: MISHA LULU

It's far from being spring here in Montreal, but I can't help but dream of it, specially with all the spring and summer collections popping up here and there. One collection that caught my eye is Misha Lulu- I saw a sneek peak and knew I wanted to share with you these beautiful images and clothes.

I remember discovering Misha Lulu for the first time on the Modern Kiddo blog- they were having a giveaway and was really bummed out when I didn't win, I've been a fan ever since. I now follow Karen, the designer on Pinterest ( you should to) and just love seeing some of the old Misha Lulu photoshoots as well as everything that inspires her.

This Spring- Summer 2013 collection really has me dreaming...

... dreaming of a vacation on a boat, by the beach, whale watching and sand castle building.

Don't you just love the use of the prints and the retro feel of the collection. I particularly love the whale print and the amazing use of yellow and pink as a color combination, but then again Misha Lulu always has that magical touch when it comes to putting print and colors together.

How lovely is the Hello Kitty collection as well? I am not showing these photos to my daughter- Miss E would flip out and I wouldn't hear the end of it- she's a little Hello Kitty crazy these days!

Seriously, I couldn't finish writting up this post without talking about the photoshoot, which is really what caught my attention in the first place. How lovely are the photos by Jessie Kenney- you should check out her blog- I too want to take a color war photoshoot with my husband! How about the styling? So nicely put together- it's by Heather Rome, one of my favorites; you've probably seen her work in Babiekins Magazine. You should also check out her vintage shop- it's one of the best.

I can't wait to see the entire collection.

Let the countdown begin... spring we are ready!!!

A quick little post to let you all know that I've busy, busy, busy latetly working on a multitude of different projects that I can't wait to share with you!

One new feature on the blog is my SHOP WITH ME-kids page. I am now part of an affiliated program and I've created a little page with all of my favorite items- clothes, shoes, accessories, room decore and even some toys from the different compagnies I am now associated with. These are all boutiques I usually shop at, like Crewcuts, the Gap, Old Navy, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie.... and many more!

If you see something you like you can click on the photo and it will take you straight to the site. Or perhaps you would rather just pin- later in your Pinterest, it will be linked straight to the site- you won't have to come back on the blog.

So are you ready to shop with me? I'm thinking of doing this with Mommy Style too- what do you think?

La Petite Magazine Issue 10

Perhaps you heard, but Issue 10 of La Petite Magazine is out, and as usual it doesn't disappoint. You'll find lot's of great photography and styling, some gorgeous kids, some killer fashion, a few DIYs, art, books and the list goes on and on... One thing for sure is you'll be plenty inspired.

There were a few photos that stood out for me- here is a small selection...
This editorial is called "Science Fiction"- it was shot by Jenny Brandt, maybe you know her better as one of the contributors to the great blog Dos Family. Loved this shoot- it's true to Jenny's style, she seems to do everything right!

I'm loving the color combination in this shot- red, baby blue, pink and a little white. Gives me lots to think about! photos by Karolina Henke.

I really enjoyed all the photos by Maxine Helfman in Tea Party, doesn't help that all the clothing was vintage! Tea anyone?

There is something about this boy and his smile...
I Am Styling- photos by Anna Mattsson and styling by Rebecca Cohen, was my favorite. I'm a huge fan of Rebecca's work and always in awe as to how she puts all this clothing together and makes it look so good. I feature the two photos above from this shoot, but could have easily showed them all-  I'll let you discover them for yourself.

I liked how un-staged this photo-shoot felt, a walk through the park! How cute is that girl? Photos by Berta Pfirsich.

And Kristin Loffer's book suggestions is a must read. It's all about the winter must haves this time arround. Her photos are also always fantastic.

Don't forget to read the cute interview with Rafa- Kids.

To check out the DIY by Trine from Groovy Mama and Baby, you know I'll be making one!

Barb Bruno collages are always fun...

and so much more to discover!

Lastly, here's a sneak peak at my selection for Lovely Finds and Petite Style...

I need to thank Rachelle, the editor in chief for giving me such a great opportunity to work with her and   has trusted me to be a part of her lovely magazine. I can't thank her enough as this will be my last time contributing- I'm moving onto new projects, soon to be announced.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

++ My Handmade Doll ++

Every year for Christmas I make some handmade gifts, usually I end up trying a craft new to me and scramble to make it the night before. This year was no exption, 2 days before the 24th, I decided I would finally sew up the waldorf doll kit I had purchased for Miss E almost 2 years ago. I have been so nervous sewing up this doll, that it has taken me 2 years to build up the courage to go at it. Of course, this was intended to be a surprise and so I sewed two night in a row while the kids were sleeping and 10 hours later came up with this little- not so little doll.

I bought the doll kit from Weir Crafts, it comes with everything you need, some great instructions and even some clothing patterns. She stands 20 inches tall, allmost as tall as Miss E, and as of now has 2 full outfits in her wardrobe.

Perhaps you noticed that her polka dot blouse is practically the same as the one I sewed up for Miss E for KCWC. I even trying a little smocking at 2 am! I had so much fun making the little clothes, I'm pretty sure her wardrobe will grow quickly...

I only wish my embroidery skills were a little better, I think her eyes could be bigger and a little closer to her nose. I might try and re-do them, but I'm afarid of ruining the whole thing. Or maybe I could just make another or two or three! Yup, I'm totally hooked.

Miss E LOVED her so much, the reaction she had when she opened her gift was priceless and well worth the sleepless nights- I couldn't help but cry.

SMOKE... by vertigo bird

Smoke... is a series of floor lights based on scaled-down prototypical elements of suburbia – the factory, car, parking lot, and house.
These were created by Bevk Perović Architects for VertigoBird for lighting up living and working environments – to be useful and critical simultaneously – to comment on our everyday lives, surrounded by pollution and consumption.
As much as these weren't necessarily intended for childrens rooms, I think they would make a lovely addition. Don't you?

I like the simplicity of the design...

I like that they are elements of our daily lives...

And finally all the little cars lying around the house will have a perfect parking spot!!!

Wishing you a....

So what did you do last night? We had a Party Dance, as the kids like to call it, with some cool disco lights and "our" favorite tracks... We danced the "night" away, up until 8pm! Played a game of memory and dominoes, had some good laughs and hopefully some happy memories.

Here's to year of Rock- Paper- Scissors... I can feel it- it's going to be a good one 2013!!!
