KCWC... part II

Busy busy busy sewing away... The week is over and I wish I had done more! I think I might have to keep going a little longer... I still have a pile of things to mend and I didn't get to do any dip diying. However, I did get to potato stamp!!!

These are some pj's I sewed up for the kids, it's made from some organic cotton I had left over. The kids had a choice between this blue, some aqua or a light pink fabric. Then I gave them a choice for the print, I could do a cat or a rabbit print and together we created a patato stamp. While Miss E was napping Mister M helped me out and we stamped his pj's. The kids were so excited, they wore the pj's as soon as they were finished, all afternoon untill the next morning!

What do you do with your old maternity clothes? I upcycled this tank top into a maxi skirt/ tunic and a color block dress for Miss E. If only you could feel the fabric, soooo soft, I have a feeling Miss E will live in these this summer.

Some more color blocking... for Mister M and  this time it took 3 t-shirts to make 1! I'll make Miss E one with the left overs.

Ka Pow!!!! Mister M loves his super heroes... Here's an upcycled XXL t-shirt made into a size 6 with some comic strip embroidered detailing and neon thread. Daddy cool has almost the same one!!!

So will you be joining me in the fall, for the next edition of KCWC? I sure hope so!

KCWC midway!

Here's why I haven't been blogging much....

I've been sewing... This is what I've accomplished in 3 days, approximately 1 hour of sewing a day. I've got 4 more days to go...

Two detachable collars... 1 reversible and 1 recycled leather which required no sewing machine and a sharpie!

These skinny jeans had holes in knees, so I turned them into shorts and added a little contrast fabric at the hem.

I like to call this one my " grandma" cardigan! It's got vintage lace for closure and some doily elbow patches.

This is my "grandpa" optical illusion cardigan... The shirt collar and sweater are all sewed together. This is dads old shirt and moms old sweater.

I'll have more for you soon... Happy Sewing!

This week...

Just a quick note to let you know what's going on this week...

Today, I'm over at Small for Big, amongst some other great blogging moms, you will find a lovely guide to some amazing Mother's Day Gift Ideas from jewelry to easy DIY project and much much more... I suggest sharing the link with your Husband, I know I will!

While you`re at it, you should check my posts on La Petite Magazine Blog and Babyccino!

This week is the KCWC challenge, this will be my third time participating. However, I don't think I'll be doing as much as the previous times only because my back still hurts and I'm not really supposed to be sewing, but shhhhh! And honestly my kids don't really need that much clothing, but you know I love a challenge. I have a few upcycled projects lined-up, some unfinished projects from last fall, some mending to do and since I can`t be sewing at the sewing machine, I was thinking of trying some dip dying and fabric printing projects too. I think that should be plenty!!!

Oh, and I`m warning you my blog posts might be a scarse!

Have a great week!!!

Nice to meet you... Luk♥ma

I think you probably already know how much I love Pinterest, but I don't think you really know how much I love Pinterest!!! I love it not only for all the wonderful images, inspiration, DIY project, home decor and the list goes on... but I also love it for all the wonderful people I meet and I love it when I explore beyond Pinterest to discover even more beauty! That is just what happened with LUKUMA... from one little comment I discovered Claudia's blog Handmade Con Amor and from there I discovered Lukuma the Etsy shop

I love the simple cuts & the pop of colors. I love that it's handmade & sustainable. I especially love the price point, nothing is over 30$! Honestly, I'd rather spend my money here then on Zara!!! The only problem... what to choose! The flower or the polka dot skirt, the grey or the hot pink sweater, what about those mary-janes? Love it all...

You should check out Claudia's blog as well, it's filled with wonderful images, lot's of inspiration and even cute tutorials, the latest one is of this upcycled t-shirt romper... perfect for those hot summer days!

And I almost forgot, follow her on Pinterest, you won't be disappointed!

Nice to meet you... Andrea Kang

I "met" Andrea Kang through Tumblr, I'm not quite sure how I landed on her Tumblr (I think she might have found mine first) but I instantly enjoyed it, every bit of it! So, naturally I looked a little further and discovered her website, Andrea isn't just a blogger, she is an illustrator, an artist, a product designer and toy maker... Everything she creates is delightful.

Here are a few of her toys...

And a few of her illustrations...

And some of her gallery work...

I had such a hard time choosing my favorites and there is so much more to discover on her website...

You should follow her on Tumblr too... I do!

Know if only she had an online store... Hint hint :)

Tiny-Us

Easter is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate than to give a cute paper doll bunny to your little ones? The best part is that not only will you be making your kids happy this Easter and keeping them busy with a great activity, you will also be making some kids with special needs happy.

How might you ask?

Tiny-Us is a creative charity project dedicated to raising funds for "Présence", an educational institute in the South of France, for young handicapped individuals. Basically, by making a donation (small or big) to Tin-Us, you can then choose from a variety of downloadable images to upload and print at home, then your donation is put to good use, like buying "special" bicycles for the kids.

That simple!

Check out the website for lot's of fun paper doll cards, birthday invites and even customizable paper dolls with your kids photos... For the boys too!

Thank you Virginie for such a lovely project!,
