The Cardboard Cubby... SUPER COLLOSAL

This is a DIY project I would love to try, we just need to buy a house first and it better have a large backyard!
I found this cardboard Cubby/ Club House while searching the net and although it dates back to 2008, I still thought it was worth sharing... This was created by Marcus Trimble from Super Collosal as part of a project for a trade show, where 6 architects where asked to create a "Sustainable Room" and this Flat-Pack Cardboard Cubby is what they came up with. I love it!

Look now you too can build your own... My mission as of today:  LOOK OUT FOR EXTRA LARGE CARDBOARD.
I'm sure we can set this up at the park, right?

Check out their plywood version too, so cool!

I heart... COQUITO

I believe every girl should have a smock dress, blouse, romper or top in her closet... at any age! Look how precious these are, I love the color choices for the fabric and the thread. So classic and beautiful, the kind of garment you'll want to keep for your grandchildren...

Coquito is the label behind this lovely collection, it is designed in Berlin and crafted in Argentina.
They strongly believe in fair trade and do everything in their power so that the workers get fair wages and good working conditions.

The detailing that goes into making a smock dress amazes me...
I've always wanted to try my hand at it, but I think that by the time I'm done my little Miss E will have outgrown it! I think it might be wiser just to buy one... and if you are like me and live far from europe, keep an eye out because Coquito is working on an online store and hopefully they will ship internationally.

NOVALEE Magazine

Novalee is a new online magazine for Kids and tweens, they came out with their first issue, entitled The Misfits a couple of weeks ago. The magazine was created by Peggy from Paul & Paula and Angela from Lula Honey, so you can imagine how exited I was when I heard they were collaborating!

Now don't expect frills and ruffles with fairy tale backgrounds, as the Novalee crew puts it so well this
is a distinctive art, fashion, and photography magazine with a clear focus on featuring cutting edge innovators in the kids + youth industry. It is designed for the avant-garde parent as well as those who want a fresh and new perspective on the children's market.

Here's are just a few of my favorite moments...

It's raw & edgy with just the right amount of sweetness... Kiddo Streetwear at it's best!

So check it out here and let me know what you liked best!

I can't wait to see the next issues!

Birds...

I am smitten by this editorial shoot for Junior Magazine entitled Birds. I simply L-O-V-E it all... the photos by Nick & Chloé, the styling by Julie Vianey and the paper headdresses by Le Creative Sweatshop.

You can see more photos via Behance... and here is a close up of the amazing paper accessories. I already know what Miss E will dress up for Halloween! I am so inspired...

Hopefully I can find a copy of Junior Magazine and maybe one day I too will be able to work on such an amazing project...

I Heart... Une Sardine à Rio

I don't have much to say expect... L.O.V.E.

Une Sardine à Rio is a french label which make the most adorable clothes. Their collections are made from organic cottons and the styles can usually grow with your child, from dress to tunic to top...

The images on the skirt are from photos taken on their travels...
and these are printed with water based inks, amazing.

I can't wait to see what else they have planned for their summer collection!

These are available at Thumbeline, the best kiddo online store!
Seriously, check it out it's packed with the most amazing merchandise..

Faux Fur Collar... DIY

Before you put your daughters winter coat away (or yours), check if there is a removable fur collar... then you'll be able to do this really simple idea!

I needed to spruce up Miss E outfit the other day and as a last minute idea (20 min before the event) I came up with this really simple DIY. I had this faux fur collar lying around which I had removed from Miss E's winter coat a while back. As I was trying to figure out how to dress up Miss E's outfit I came across the collar and thought of adding a piece of lace and VOILÀ!

Honestly, I'm embarrassed to call this a DIY... all you need is a removable collar, the kind that attaches with buttons and then pass a piece of ribbon of any kind (satin, lace, shoelace) approximately 110cm trough the loops and your done. Wear this over a dress, a t-shirt, a coat... anything really!

Nice to meet you Lately Lily...

Have you heard of Lately Lily?
Lately Lily is a cute collection of t-shirts for your little one thanks to the collaboration between Author / Illustrator Micah Player and Apparel Designer Erin Nichols.
Each season you can follow the character Lily, the curious daughter of a photographer and writer for the International Exposition (Definitive Journal of Global Curiosity), as she travels the world with them in the company of her best friend, Zeborah. Lily writes in her notebook about what she has seen and where she has been, lately. These notes become the hangtags to and inspiration for the teeshirt designs. This season she's exploring the mountains of Peru...

I particularly like the vintage inspired illustrations and the hang tags are adorable. I think my favorite tee is Zeborah, i just love the color and I've always liked zebras...
I can't wait to see where Lily goes next, perhaps Iceland or Paris? Where would like to see her go? Hmmm, I'm thinking Russia would make a lovely winter destination...

Check out Lately Lily website, it's filled with stories and illustrations!

Over the Moon...

Can I just say my kids would go BANANAS for these Moon Glasses by Tale.

Both Mister M and Miss E are really intrigued by the moon and the different phases these days, we read the Carle book - Papa, please get me the moon for me, every night. So it's no wonder these caught my eye!

The ceramic cup shows a full moon when it’s full of liquid, then as your drink, it slowly unveils a half moon, then a crescent-shaped moon and then just fill it up again... They are intended for sake, rice wine or tea, but nobody said you can't drink milk in them! They come in black or white and in two different sizes.

Now I just need to figure out where to buy them!

Cristallines ++ Milk Magazine ++

I just got my copy of the Milk Kid's Collection Magazine, it was about time!!! I'm not sure why it takes so long for us Canadians to get our copies in the newsstands, but I'm sure glad I have it between my hands now... I'm really thinking of getting the numeric version! You get it instantaneously, it's less expensive and better for the environment, to top it off my husband will be happy since their will be less magazines lying around the whole apartment. Ok, I think I just convinced myself!!!

Issue no.35 of Milk Magazine just came out and I'm in absolute LOVE with the cover... Have a look at the Cristallines spread, simply S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G.

Do you think Miss E will like to wear a paper collar? Or perhaps I could try to recreate this with fabric and starch!
You can read all about the Swarovski Elements and Children's Designers collaboration on the online magazine.

You can also get a free sneak-peek into the new issue (http://issuu.com/milkmilk/docs/milk_35_issuu2/1 ). This will give you a taste of what a numeric issue is like, not bad! I think I might be sold on the idea...

Honestly, check it out, the Color block spread is so much fun and inspiring, you'll be glad you did!

I can't wait for the summer to come around and for us to loose our coats, hats and scarves already.

Lovin... Odette Manon.

Odette Manon

Today I would like to share with you an awesome website ... Odette Manon ...

First, I just love the name, it has a vintage old french lady vibe to it, but has such a lovely ring!

Second, this website is wonderfully curated, Sharon Paz and Raquel Wilson-Sow do a nice job at finding great children's products and brands. I also love following them on twitter, they share the most awesome links from around the web.

You should also check out their GUIDE, it's filled with some not-so-average finds.

And one of their awesome features is called MILF (mothers I love to follower), here you can discover some great moms from around the web... Lucky me, I was featured a couple of weeks ago (check it out here!).

Here are a few of my Odette Manon discoveries...

Least Little Thing

Just wanted to pop in and say hello! It's been a busy week, but I've managed to find some great stuff on my Tumblr: Least Little Thing. Come check it out!

I've had mine for almost a year, but it's not since last month that I really got into it. There's something about Tumblr I just love, can't quite put my finger on it yet... I think it's become my inspiration board, to me it's a little more creative And can I say, I just love all the animated gif.

I've become an image junkie! I might need an intervention soon...

If you have a tumblr let me know, If you know of an amazing one, let me know too.

My Vintage (dream) Wishlist no.5

I was going to do one of my vintage lists and then I came across Factory 20,

the most amazing antique/ vintage store ever!

I don't think I saw something I didn't like...

From decorative arts to furnishing, all unusual and unforgettable.

Don't expect to find anything under 150$... But a girl can dream can't she?

Here are a few of the children's vintage selection...

Mister M wants to go to a class carnival as a clown... I tink I just found my inspiration!

My kind of game... I'm pretty sure I had something quite similar growing up.

Unfortunately this is no longer available...

Or maybe it's a good thing, I might have broke the bank for this vintage stroller!

It was this toy stroller that made me discovered Factory 20,

thanks to Petite Polou on Pinterest...
