Nice to meet you: ASHLEY G and DREW

I just love discovering new artists, specially illustrators and painters, perhaps because it's te art form I have the hardest time with myself. I have no imagination nor skills in that departement, illustration is the subject matter I had to work the hardest at in fashion design school!

I have to say I should take more time to check out the sources of what I like on Pinterest. That is just what I did this time and discovered that one of my favorite "pinners" Ashley Goldberg was behind the creative duo Ashley G and Drew.  I am just loving their illustrations, I like the simplicity, the style and the colors... Oh! and the expression on those little faces. PERFECT!

Miss E's room is going to need some re-decorating soon and I would just love to add any one of these prints to one of her walls. Also, If I had a studio/ workshop space, the first print up top would hang there for sure... I can't wait to teach Miss E to knit! SWEET.

There were so many great illustrations to choose from, so to see more of Ashley G and Drew's work check out their  website, or perhaps to buy some prints, orginal artwork, postcards, +++ check out their Etsy shop

MishMash Friday no.13

Today is a good day!  Today is a good day!  Today is a good day! Just trying out some positive thinking... Truthfully, I'm not feeling that great today, but... Today is a good day!

I wasn't going to blog today, that's how bad and unmotivated I was feeling this morning, I just found out I had not 1 but 2 herniated disks in my lower back. The " good" news is that I need complete bed rest for who knows how long, so that means lot's of blogging!!! Trying to see the positive in all of this... So here I am stuck in bed with my iPad and thanks godness for my iPad, because Pinterest has cheered me up. A real drug that website!

So here are some things I liked this morning over on Pinterest ( I've added everything to my pinluscious board and more)... Just click on the photo to get to the source.

Something to bring my appetite back... How cute? And the packaging too...

A cute elephant tee to bring me luck...

A fun collage to make me smile... These are created by Barbara Bruno, to see more check her board out on pinterest, she's one of my favorites!

To inspire me... I wish I had a hat like that!

To make me wish I could sew again... But really to make me discover a new amazing blog ( check the photo below)

Muita ihania is an oh so lovely blog full of inspiration and ideas... My latest blog love!

Because I am a lucky girl, always have been... I'm surrounded by people I love and who love and care for me. Thank you!

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Thank you for reading my blog, you make me happy! Truly...

P.S. don't forget to read my blog posts on La Petite Magazine, I've written about some pretty cool stuff in the past couple of weeks ;)

anne kurris... summer 2012

Anne Kurris is a children's clothing line from Antwerp that has been around since 1998. Anne Kurris the creator first started out as a graphic designer, so it's no wonder you find such strong graphic elements in her designs. Her collections are often influenced by pop art and nature and you can count on them being high in colors.

I am swooned by the Summer 2012 editorial shoot, taken by photographer Achim Lippoth. The colors and composition are a breath of fresh air...

For the full collection head on over to Anne Kurris website. And if you love children's fashion & photography I urge you to check out Achim Lippoth's website... the intro is so much fun! Also, these two collaborate on one of, if not the most amazing children's magazine: Kid'sWear. So check out their website, and I know I'm going to be buying the latest issue (if I can find it here in Montreal!!!).

MARNI Fall 2012

I was so excited when I  found out, via Smudgetikka, that MARNI, one of my all time favorite labels was going to be doing a full collection for kids this fall. I just love everything about MARNI, the amazing prints, the good layering, the mix and match of colors, the silhouettes, and now we'll be able able to find all these amazing details in the children's collection. They have done small collections in the past, however for Fall 2012 expect to find more styles and world wide distribution...

Here is a sneak-peek of what's coming...

They were just showing at the Pitti Bimbo Trade show in Italy, have a look at their booth it's just gorgeous!

So Little Time...

Hey! diddle, diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon;
The little dog laughed
To see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.

I instantly fell in love with this running spoon and dish brooch... which then made me want to see more and so I discover SO LITTLE TIME Co. This little Etsy shop is filled with laser cut wearables, from necklaces to brooches, made from sustainable wood, hand painted and one of kind. What's not to love...

There's even something for the boys... Mister M would love that airplane!

You can discover their full collection on their website...
You can buy the collection on their Etsy shop...
You can keep up to date with their blog...

Now, I could use some extra time in my day... How about you?

Mimi Crayon-Candles

Since we are on the topic of Birthdays today, I thought I would share this really cute idea: Mimi Crayons-Candles.

What do you do with your candles once they are blown out? Do you keep them for the next? I try, but then I can never find them agin!!! So wouldn't it be great if they could just turn the candles into crayons... Brilliant!

Unfortunately this isn't a real product,  just a great idea that needs to be realized, it was school project in which Emanuel Cohen needed to combine 2 products that go together but aren't necessarily sold together...

You should check out Emanuel Cohen's portofolio, if I had money, I'd have him design all my projects... maybe one day! I wish him a bright future!

See his website 26 Lettres and he's also on behance...

Happy Birthday...

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Daddy Cool...

It's you, it's you, it's all for you

Everything I do

I tell you all the time

Heaven is a place on earth with you

Tell me all the things you want to do

I heard that you like the bad girls

Honey, is that true?

It's better than I ever even knew

They say that the world was built for two

Only worth living if somebody is loving you

Baby now you do

Did you check out my post on La Petite Magazine's blog yesterday? I talked about Simple Kids, an amazing brand from Belgium...

Part III: THE GIFTS...

Last week I showed you the gift I got from I'm with Leia as part of the Craft It forward Giveaway (part I), then I showed how I was inspired by that gift to make Miss E and Mister M some snood's (part II).

TODAY, I share with you the gifts I made as part of my Craft It forward Giveaway... Part III

The Dala Horse: this little softy is made from recycled materials and embroidered on a machine.

The Race Car: this plush car was also made from recycled fabrics...

The Floral Necklace: I made this one with some recycled leather and I embroidered the floral pattern (by machine).

I had a great time making these gifts, but I have to say it's not easy choosing what to make when you hardly know who it's going to, especially when you like to please!

Maybe I'll try this giveaway again as some point this year...

P.S. I got my gifts finished and mailed on the last day of the year :) Just in time!

Part I: I'M WITH LEIA

Part I of 3: I'm with Leia and the wonderful gift....

Do you remember the Craft It forward Giveaway I did back in November? Basically, in order to get the gift I had to comment on a participating blog and pledge to then host the giveaway myself and make something to the first 5 commentators... So I commented on I'm with Leia's blog and got the greatest gift!!!

Today I'd like to tell you little more about I'm with Leia's blog, because I love it! I really enjoy reading about other peoples lifestyles, hobbies and tastes especially when they live far from me and enjoy the same things as me...

I especially like reading Heidi's blog because I can discover a little about the Copenhagen ways of life, I enjoy all the knitting she does and she really does showcase some lovely finds and photos. It's like living in Denmark for a couple minutes everyday...

Did I mention she's really sweet! YUP, That too!!!

I'm so glad I participated in this Craft It forward Giveaway... This hat and snood keep me warm on the coldest of winter days! And Heidi has inspired me, come back tomorrow for part 2.... I can't thank you enough Heidi!!!
