The Shuffle Bot + Cloud = 2 Handmade Halloween Costume

The LMFAO Shuffle Robot and Little Miss Partly Cloudy had a blast trick or treating... Mister M was too cool, he even shuffled for some extra candy, and Miss E was the cutest cloud ever!

This year I carved two and a half pumpkins... Mister M wanted a funny looking one, so he got it!!!
Here is the cloud costume... I even painted some lightning on her leggings, made a headband and put some lights on her sun!

And the Shuffle Bot, LMFAO's Dancing Robot... That was Mister M's idea, and I wasn't allowed to forget any details: the flashing eyes, the heart necklace, the two color shoes with "party rock".

I had sooooo much making these costumes, I really enjoy Halloween, always have! One of my first memories of coming to Canada when I was five, was my first Halloween... And any excuse to get dressed up is a great one in my books...

It's really too bad there aren't many handmade costumes out there, my favorite one tonight was a taxi made out of cardboard box. The kids also enjoyed seeing all the other kids costumes, they had fun distributing some candy as well, our street gets pretty busy, the neighborhood park throws a little party with decorations and a magician, they block off the street... It's a big party!

Here are some close up and details of my DIY homemade costumes...

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween!!!

Can't wait to show off what I was up to this weekend.... Tomorrow, promise!

MishMash Friday no.4

Another week went by, and it was a little quieter around here! Maybe it's the colder weather that has slowed everything and everyone down... Nonetheless, I kept busy ad here are my new found loves!

The art above ( found via Miss Moss) says it all... Unfortunately, I don't get breaks every day... This week was a good one and I got many which means lot's of things to share today and in the coming weeks!!!

You know how much I love Wovenplay, right? And I absolutely love Katelyn Mooney works, she sure can style a kids photo-shoot! So put the two together and you get serious awesomeness...

WOVENPLAY from papier mache magazine on Vimeo.

How awesome is this cube hideaway? The best thing is that it fits in your pocket! It's the most portable playhouse ever... It's not intended for small kids, just the big ones like me! Actually, it was intended for the MOMA and is only a prototype... Too bad! "Basic House" by Martin Azua.

Have you heard? Wool and The Gang has a range of knitting kits for kids now, it was about time! I'm loving this chunky striped sweater. And check out the scarf in action in this cute video by Jake Davis on Vimeo.

What do you spy with your little eye? Get your free download of this 19th century print here...

Have you ever seen a cuter golden tiara? Well now you can make the same by following this tutorial.... This blog has the best tutorials... SERIOUSLY.
It's in Spanish, but who cares... Use google translate !
Have a great weekend everyone... I'll be busy making Mister M's and Miss E's costumes, I might attempt at making a little something for me as well! And I have two pumpkins to carve... So much fun! See ya Monday... ( photo via here)

I HEART: Handmade Charlotte...

Perhaps you've heard of Handmade Charlotte before, it's this wonderful blog about kids design with the most amazing selection ever! I would have never thought that you could be in the know, ultra cool and successful while living on a farm with 5 kids and a bunch of animals in the middle of nowhere... Thanks to Rachel, I now know it's possible and boy do I envy her! To top it off, she just launched a new capsule collection in collaboration with none other than Anthropologie.

The collection is as cute as can be, with the most precious appliqué and embroidered details. I'm loving the colors and the luscious fabrics.
What little girl wouldn't look adorable in these vintage styles?

Did you know Anthropologie ships to all of North America... Yeahhh!

What's not to love?

Panic Mode... Easy Halloween Costumes

When I posted my Halloween costumes inspiration last week, I had NOT realized that I had LESS than 2 weeks to make my kids their outfits!!! So now I'm in panic mode... Also, I've been busy with other projects and haven't had time to do much, so I've rounded up some of my favorite, easy enough, some no sew Halloween costumes to get me inspired once again!!!

I've been collecting images and links on Pinterest for some time now, so go check out my Dress Up board, there is a lot to look through and so much to get inspired by, actually all of the above pictures came straight from my PInterest. Also, Martha Stewart is always a great source of DIY projects, costumes, you name it! To make it cooler, just add your touch...

You'll have to wait until Tuesday to see what I came up with... Wish me good luck!

KIDInc: Mr. Men & Little Miss in Disguise...

To keep within the Halloween spirit, I thought i'd share these cool KIDINC t-shirts with you today!
Mister M and Miss E love their Mr.Men & Little Miss books, so it's no surprise these tees caught my eye when I first saw them on Small For Big.

Kindinc is a tee-shirt company for the whole family, full of color, humor, edgy graphics and major coolness factor...

Mister M is really into his Super Heros these days ( it doesn't help that Daddy Cool is a vintage comic book geek!), so it's no wonder Mister Iron is his favorite.

Guess which I like best?

This one cracks me up!

So to check out the whole collection on their website.

How would you disguise your Mr. Men or Little Miss as?

MishMash Friday no.3

Friday already? I think i had a good week, i wrote a post everyday, I haven't done that in a while and I did my first guest post ever (i was very nervous). Unfortunately, because of all this, i kinda neglected all the blogs i usually read... So sorry! But i did catch up last night and here are a few of the things I liked:
The Unicorn photo (above) was found via Hello Tiger... Just a little more Halloween inspiration!
This Mina Perhonen sweater for Miss E and the dress for me... We could do a mother-daughter matching outfit!
I'm not usually a big Ralph Lauren fan, but I find their style fits real well with this falls varsity trend for the boys... I'm loving this jacket for Mister M! Did you know that The Bay carried RL for kids and they have an online store... P.S. Most of the items are already on sale and the prices are good!
How cute are these handmade cupcake stamps? So many possibilities! Love it... By Etsy seller Memi The Rainbow.
Need I say more? These would be great with that new little heart dress I made her last week, remember? These are on sale as well, and come in many other colors. Did I mention they come in big sizes too... Now Miss E and I can really match! Take a look what Albert et Henriette have for you...
How about a little DIY inspiration... Perhaps your daughter has a doll she could spare! I love this blog, Dos Family, these girls are always full of ideas and they have a great sense of humor... Thank you!
Buy your art wall here!

In need of some Inspiration...

So Halloween is just around the corner and I still don't know what Miss E is going to wear. She does have plenty of costumes she already plays with and could wear... Since Mister M very well knows what he wants to dress as, and I'll be making it, I thought it would be nice to make Miss E something special too! Now, I could go onto Martha Stewart or some other DIY website and find a tutorial, but where's the fun in that!!!! Just kidding, I'm keeping those for another day...

Seriously, kids magazine and children's photography these days are full of inspiration from the styling to the makeup & hair and the photo shoots too. Here are a few that have caught my eye, and might just be the solution to my problem!

These were taken by Hannah Scott Stevenson for Papier Mache magazine.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Need I say more?

Photos by Sergi Pons for Vogue Ninos... I love the hair and the boat on the little girls head!
Marie-Antoinette would be proud.
Artist Sarah Illenberger created these for Nido Magazine. I'm not sure which I like best!!!

These are all covers of Small Magazine, an online children's magazine always full of inspiration...

Stephanie Rausser is a photographer, I love her pictures they always have some great humor to them...

Vee Speers is also a photographer, these are a little dark but so stunning...
you should check out the rest of the series, it's very interesting
I know Mister M already has his costume, or should I say almost, but how cute would he be looking like this!

Unfortunately I found this photo a long time ago on Tumblr and don't have the source, so if you know where it's from please let me know!
