MishMash Friday no.1

If you've been following me on my blog, then you already know that I have been back to work, but did you realize that it's been 4 weeks already! Perhaps you've noticed that I am getting better organized and have been blogging a little more, especially in the past week.
What you don't know is that in the past I used to read a lot of other blogs, my daily routine was to wake-up and while I had my morning coffee I would read. While Miss E napped, I would read. Whenever I had a chance I would read.... Now my time is limited, but there are those blogs I just can't help but read and I try my best to check them out daily!
Here's what I liked from my absolute favorite blogs this week!
First, I'd like to wish all of my readers a Shana Tova! It's the Jewish New Year this week... So you should check out this really cute Israeli brand at Paul et Paula, one of my favorite daily reads! Check out Peggy's online store too, she has some really cute handmade (by her) items that I am sure you will love...
I am always so excited to see what Deborah of Kickcan & Conkers is going to come up with next... This week you should check out this home. It is such an inspiring space... If only I could trust my children not to draw on the sofa or the walls or the floor or or or....
I am so happy I stumbled upon Small for Big months ago, I love Mari's selection. This week she made me discovered the coolest online store with a great boys selection, now that's rare! I get my second pay check this week and I think I might spend some of it here!
So I don't just read kiddy blogs... I love, love, love Miss Moss, check out her moodboard... I love that Diana is from South Africa and that summer is just starting there, she brightens up my grey days with her summery posts!
I'll have more blog love next week, in the mean time...
Happy reading and have a great weekend!

Les Ballets Russes at SOFT GALLERY...

"Celebrate what you want to see more of", Thomas J. Peters

I'm not sure I need to say much today... I only wish Miss E was big enough to take ballet classes, so then I would have a great excuse to get her one of these Soft Gallery owl leotards! Couldn't Miss E wear one of these at our nightly dance parties? In L-O-V-E.

For this fall, Soft Gallery was inspired by "The Ballet Russes".

Soft Gallery enjoys collaborating with different artist to create their collection and with every new season comes new collaboration. This fall was no different, all these artist contributed to the elaboration of the Ballet Russes collection: Fontaine Anderson, Anne Lindberg, Nacho Gill, Mikka, Louise Boye, Kristine Mandsberg, Rafaela de Campos.

The graphics, details and embroidery are spectacular. I really like the way they use silkscreening with just a touch of embroidery on some styles. Clever!

New this fall at Soft Gallery is their"basic" collection of two tone jersey items, in their classic muted colors...

Do you love what you see? These styles also come in baby and woman sizes...
The home page of their website has a really sweet video... so check it out!
For the full collection, photos, campaign and whatnot go here...

Now I haven't talked much about my new job... I'll just say that I now have access to an embroidery machine. If I could just figure out how to work it better! AHHH! The possibilities!

What's in your closet: Miss E & Mister M? Summer Round Up...

Since it's officially Fall, I thought I'd share some of my favorite summer outfits.... So I can finally turn the page and accept that my favorite season has come to end! I have to say, Mother Nature is being very kind to us, on this side of the earth anyhow. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that this isn't our Indian summer. PLEASE, not just yet...

I had an amazing summer, I tried my best to savour every moment... I knew this would be the last of it's kind, I'm a working woman now! I tried to take the kids out as much as possible, and boy did we play in the park next to the house...

Here is Miss E, in her cute little outfits... most are hand-me downs, there are a few new pieces, others are vintage and some hand-made by little me! Can you guess which is which?

Little Mister M isn't so little anymore... he is growing up so fast. I love that he's become a "big boy" and don't tell him otherwise! Almost 4 and he is starting to voice his opinions about what he wants to wear. As long as I tell him that what I chose was previously his cousins Coby's, he usually wont make a fuss.

Now I know what your thinking... 3 photos of Mister M vs 11 of Miss E! Well, Mister M was in daycare most of the days and by the time I would pick him up, he would be covered in food... he doesn't know what a napkin is! And let me tell you, those photos just don't make great content! LOL Just kidding, I couldn't post most of the photos I have of Mister M, simply because we could see his face too much. Daddy Cool isn't down with that and I respect his opinion...

How do you feel about posting pictures of your kids on the web, I would LOVE to know? I've been wanting to do a post on that issue since I started the blog and for some reason I haven't gotten around to it...

Spot the Dot...

Spot the Dot is one of Mister M's favorite I-Pad apps. This app was created by David A. Carter, perhaps you already know some of his pop-up books!

I would strongly recommend this fun, entertaining yet simple application for any toddler or preschooler.
It teaches colors and fine motor skills, and with every color, 10 in total, you get a knew and different challenge!
If your child happens to speak French, like mine, well it's a great way to learn English too!!!
The graphics are simple.
The music is pleasant.

If your not sure, get the lite version first, that's what we did! Trust me, it was a 3.99$ well spent, Mister M could spent hours on this game...

Good job David A. Carter!

I hope this keeps you busy over the weekend! Have a great one...

My Fall Wish List... Vintage Style!

I've been doing some "vintage" window shopping...Online! Is there a term for that?
Here are the items I really wish I could buy!

For Miss E...

Lovely purple hand knit sweater from Etsy seller Rachel Chayes.

Great corduroy and faux fur fall jacket by Etsy seller Young Team 1981.

Faux fur 70's vest from Etsy seller Retro Spectro Vintage.

How about this sweater from Red Beach Girl with this maxi skirt from Fairy Mimi.

I just discovered this great online store from Belgium, Petite Boutique. Their selection is truly exceptional, classic vintage pieces for the true fan! Here is a small selection for the girls... For the boys, scroll all the way down.

For Mister M...

Nice Lacoste sweater from Etsy seller Verseau Vintage.

How cool is this boyscout shirt from Japan? From Etsy seller Rollerscait.

How perfect are these corduroy pants for this fall's colored pants trend? From Etsy seller MissShapes.

Mister M would look great in this Tiger tee, from Etsy seller Rogue Retro.

Too bad these sweatpants are wayyyy to small for both my kids! I could totally picture Gwen Stephanie buying these, wouldn't you? From Etsy seller Fibie.

How about these black leather boots? Just like the Beatles wore... I know I want a pair! From Esty seller Retro Man Vintage.

Another Lacoste number, this would make a great fall jacket. I'm loving the light grey and navy mix. From Blue Bird Vintage.

More from Petite Boutique....

The boy stuff seams to be selling well, so if you've got your eye on something... Don't wait to long!

HOCKEY madness...

Tonight is the first Hockey game of the season and my little family is so excited! Maybe I should precise that it's not even an actual game, just a pre-season game! That's how crazy we get about hockey around here... And it's not just Daddy Cool, it's Mister M, Miss E and me as well! I won't miss a game, I listen to hockey radio in the car, I try to stay up to date with all the stats and what not... The kids get so excited when they hear the hockey theme song on the t.v., Mister M starts running all over the place and then we all wear our jerseys and sing the national anthem. I know we are crazy!!!

Now do the kids love hockey or did we get them into believing they love it? How cute is this tee?

They make them up to size 24m and they have lot's of other sports to choose from...check it out here! I just enrolled Mister M for skating classes this morning, how cute would it be if I made him one of these for his 1st class!

Does your family have a sport or team they go bananas for? Go Habs Go!!!

HIT or MISS: boy leggings?

What do you think of leggings for your little boys, or perhaps I should say not so little boys? I'm thinking for your 4 year olds and up... Mister M will soon be 4, and I'm not quite sure if He could pull off the look! Or perhaps, I'm just too worried about what others might think... I know I shouldn't care, I don't usually, but I wouldn't want him to get bullied or laughed at! I'm pretty sure, we wouldn't be having this discussion if I lived in Europe!

American Apparel has a new pair of what they call "thermal" leggings, so they aren't your typical Lycra, stretchy tights, they are a little thicker and a bit more loose. Also, they seemed to be mainly for boys, most of the pictures on the website, besides one other, was of this cute boy you see here.

So do you think they are a HIT, a MISS, or are you just like me and are ON THE FENCE? Let me know by clicking on the buttons/word just below. Or leave a comment.... You might just sway me in one direction or another!

Ummmm, the more I look at the pictures, the more I like the look...

Just in case you haven't seen this video, check it out. Mister M and Miss E love it, you should see them try to do the same thing! Sweet!

I HEART: Olive's Friend Pop...

As you might have noticed, I have a tendency of liking vintage or vintage inspired clothing... I don't know what it is about these classic & timeless looks, maybe it's the simplicity or perhaps the small details, like the pleats and pin tucks that make these outfit so sweet. I also love the soft colors, the florals and tweeds that children wore in the 30's and 40's...

Olive's Friend Pop bring all of these wonderful characteristics in a modern yet nostalgic collection for your little ones. This fall you can find all of the key pieces for your girls wardrobe, such as the cape, the shorts and the playsuit.

I am loving the dresses as well...

As Julia & Lea describe on their website: "if you're a mum like us, who likes to mix the high street with high end along with the occasional vintage find, then maybe you'll see some things you like in our little collection". Not MAYBE, for SURE!!!!

Now if only this was available in Canada on the East Coast... Olive's Friend and Pop is from Australia!!! Ummmm! Do I know anyone in Australia? To bad my Dad isn't living there anymore... Perhaps we can convinced the girls to open up a shop on Etsy!!!!
