Save the Date: SWAP

Are you in Montreal July 9th and 10th? Yes! Great, then you must come to the SWAP: Take off your Clothes Montreal event. Now you're thinking what on earth? Yes! Come and give your earth a little love by swapping some clothes... What is yours is mine, right? This is a clothing swapping event where you basically bring 10 clothing items, that are clean and new looking (including shoes and accessories) and in exchange you get 10 items of your choice. The entrance fee is 10$ for anyone older than 12. What a bargain, thrift stores don't have such amazing deals!!!! And any left over clothing will be donated to Fripe-Prix Renaissance.

Do you know that this event has been going on since 2007, and that 23,000+ items have been swapped, 21,000+ items were donated to charities, and that 44,000+ items were kept out of our landfills … and counting! Oh! and it's a non-profit enterprise and is entirely run by volunteers.

Their mission:

1. Provide good quality clothing to charities, who then use the clothes for their local community programs
2. Provide communities with an alternative to new clothing consumption (e.g.,
collaborative consumption)
3. Promote eco-friendly and socially conscious clothing consumption
4. Develop upcycled items from used clothing, textiles and waste materials from the garment industry (check out our sister project,
Style & Conscience)
So where will you be Saturday, July 9  from 1:00PM – 6:00PM or Sunday, July 10 from 12PM – 5:00PM?
I know I'll be at la PLACE DES ARTS – GRAND FOYER CULTUREL (INDOORS), right in downtown Montreal!!! See you there!

Plush Luv: RAPLAPLA

Have you heard of Raplapla? Well what are you waiting for.... These are the coolest and cutest dolls ever! And they are made right here in Montreal! No worries, If you do not live here, well you can get yours online, or find them in a cool store near you... Raplapla has been a long time favorite of mine, I used to carry these in my little boutique (Mosspink) back in the days, at the very beginning. And now Erica sells her dolls and other creatures across the world! Watch out, these dolls have no neck, no ears, no elbows, not even a nose, but they have have the greatest smile, that won't wash away, and will keep you and your kids smiling for days... The animals and clowns are cute too!
And if you are in Montreal, then you have to stop by and pay a visit,  the atelier-boutique is so charming... it's worth the detour!

OH Canada: Joe Fresh...

Canada Day is on it's way... July 1st, so this weeks theme will be all about Canadian fashion, products, blogs, events, you name it....

Today I share with you, one of my favorite brands: Joe Fresh. Every two weeks I go to Loblaws to do my grocery shopping, and every two weeks Daddy Cool has to pull me out of the Joe Fresh Store, which happens to be in the super market. Thank goodness the clothing is very affordable, or else we'd be spending more on clothes than on groceries! By the way, they have the best sales ever...

Joe Fresh is a Canadian company and is sold in more than 300 locations across Canada. Montreal has a really beautiful stand alone store on Jean Talon & Parc ave, they stock up on all the styles! Did I mention the stores was gorgeous... it used to be a train station! It's worth the detour... Watch out NYC, Joe Fresh will open up a store this fall right in Manhattan on 5 avenue and 43rd Street. You won't be disappointed!!!

Not only does the design team do a great job, the clothing is stylish and trendy, there is something for every taste and everyone (mom and dads included), I also find the quality to be pretty good. Seriously, what more could you ask for? Well the company is socially responsible as well. All the Joe Fresh products are made in state-of-the-art factories around the world which have passed a third party social compliance audit conducted by Bureaus Veritas. Many of our factories are also ISO, WRAP and CTPAT certified. They respect all local laws and ensure that factories are socially compliant. They have a zero-tolerance policy for child labour and forced labour and hold the highest standards for health and safety, and environmental compliance. I just found this out... I'll feel a little less guilty next time I buy something!!!! Big bonus!

By the way the fall collection is already in stores (I was there today) and it doesn't disappoint!!!!! I could have bought most of what I saw. To bad I couldn't find any pictures...

Mommy Cool: HELP!!!

OK,  so I need your help... I'm really undecided about what to wear at a wedding this coming Sunday, and I don't see eye to eye with Daddy Cool on this one. So, I would love it if you could help me out a little and let me know which outfit you like best.... Keep in mind that these photos were taken really quickly, that I'm no model and I really hate taking pictures (can't you see how uneasy I am?). Also, I will be adding some jewelry to the outfits, I'm currently not wearing any make-up, which I intend to do, and my hair needs some major loving.
Just below the post just click on the outfit you like the most: 1, 2, 3 or 4. I really appreciate this!!!!

News Flash: "little Luxury"

photo via Stylesight
Versace just announced the launch of their junior line "Little Luxury". According to Stylesight the Spring Summer collection is inspired by Alice in Wonderland with some rock and roll and glittery style a staple at Versace.

BOYS WILL BE BOYS: Beach Bums...

Mini Rodini

So I couldn't leave out the boys this week, that just wouldn't be fair! So what does your little one wear at the beach? Do you prefer the boardshorts, the swimming briefs or speedos, the trunks, or perhaps the square leg suits? Mister M wears most of these, except for the speedo, and that's just the way I like it! Look how cute all these styles are...  I'm not so much into the "Surfer Hawaiian" look! But that's just me! And you'll notice I really like the "square leg suit", it's probably the European side of me!
